What are services available at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall?
The White Paper of Services is presented to the general public as the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall's commitment to quality services. All staff members honor the opportunities to serve every visitor and hope a trip here makes everyone as comfortable as at home.
The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (hereinafter referred to as the Memorial Hall), together with the Chung-shan Hall Division, has been transferred to under the Ministry of Education in July 1986 as an educational institution. Under the Memorial Hall are six divisions (Educational Programs Division, Exhibition Division, Landscaping Division, General Affairs, Engineering Division, Security Division), one administration (Chuan-shan Hall Division), and three offices (Personnel Office, Accounting Office, and Civil Service Ethics Office). The Memorial Hall, dedicated to the principles of universality, services, and love for society, and its all staff members hope to provide the best services.
Services:
Under the leadership of Director-general Chang Jui-pin, who assumed office in July 1999, all staff members are committed to the most quality services. Notable works are listed below;
Reception and Guided Tours.
The Memorial Hall is open all year round with great numbers of visitors on weekends and national holidays. Receptionists are bilingual or trilingual, fluent in Mandarin, English,and Japanese to give foreign visitors the best educational and comfortable tour in the Memorial Hall. During the period from July 2002 to June 2003, some 4,928 visitors of 96 domestic and foreign tour groups were given guided tour in the Memorial Hall. An estimated 500,000 visitors toured the Memorial Hall without guides.
Celebration and Gathering
In line with the government's policy, the Memorial Hall hosts celebration activities to commemorate designated holidays and events. The Auditorium and the Chung Shan Hall are used for major events, such as the Golden Horse Award Ceremony, the Golden Book Award Ceremony, Outstanding Teachers Award and the National Teachers' Day, the National Day Celebration Program, and Outstanding Groups for Social Education, among others.
Performances
The Auditorium features the largest performance hall in Taiwan about 2,500 seats. It can be used for theatrical plays, musicals, dance, various performing arts, lectures, and other artistic or cultural events.
Speeches
On weekend and holidays, seminars and speeches are given at the Chung Shan Lecture Hall and Lecture Hall, on various subjects including health and medical care, family life, new trends, international situations, and government policies, among others.
Exhibitions
There are 20 galleries in National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, including the Chung-shan National Gallery, Yat-sen Gallery, De-ming Gallery, and others. There are four magor exhibition themes: Historical Documents of the Father of the Republic , the native art , the government's administrative achievements and the art and culture . The aim of these exhibitions is to help people know more about the history of revolution and martyrs' sacrifices and struggles. Art and culture exhibitions are to upgrade the general public's appreciation of guality art. In addition, there are many exhibitions' cabinets in Chung-shen Hall to be displayed in rotation.
Computer Teaching
For operating with policy of electronic-government and promoting lifelong learning classes, Memorial Hall build two information rooms and cooperate with “Institute for Information Industry?to manage various computer class.
Educational Activities for Children
Recently Memorial Hall map out many educational activities for children, including “Children Creative Thinking Camp? “Skill for Cut and Sticky with Family? ?Magic Art School ?and so on. We led children to learn and grow with active and creative activities.
Classes for adults
The Memorial Hall opens classes for adults to promote lifetime learning. It is the fifth term at the present moment. There are about 20 classes, including Chinese painting, calligraphy, poetry recitation, photography, sketch, philosophy, etc. The public react to these classes very favorably.

To rent the auditorium
To administrate the use of the auditorium and maintain its facilities, the Memorial Hall has prepared;Management Guidelines;and;application forms for those who want to apply for the rental of the auditorium. Applications will be reviewed and results will be notified in 7 days.
To rent the Lecture Hall and Chung-shan Symposium Hall Rental -- ?
To manage and the use of the Lecture Hall, the Memorial Hall also prepares the Management Guidelines and application forms for those who want to apply for the rental of these two halls. Applications will be reviewed promptly and results will be notified in 7 days.
To rent the Exhibition Hall
There are many exhibition halls in the Memorial Hall. To enforce the management and maintain the facilities,user's Information and application forms are prepared for those who want to apply for the rental of any specific room. Applications will be handled promptly and results will be notified in 7 days.
To rent the open space
To keep the solemnity of the Memorial Hall and the cleanliness and tidiness of the garden for visitors the Management Guidelines and application forms are prepared, for those who want to rent Chung-shan square park. Facility Rental Service is to deal with all kinds of applications. Applications for various facilities are reviewed separately as follows:

The auditorium
  • the unit in charge -- the Educational Programs Division, Tel: 886-02-27588008 ext.522
  • qualification -- the auditorium rental is only open to government agencies, registered and accredited organizations, companies and corporations, colleges and universities to hold cultural and educational activities and assemblies.
  • application procedure -- The filled application form together with a program proposal shall be sent to the Educational Programs Division. Once the application is approved, 30% of the maintenance fee shall be paid as deposit to secure reservation of the dates for use. The remaining 70% must be received ten days before the use of the auditorium, together with the following papers:
    1. technical requirement list
    2. facilities list
    3. approval by the competent authority
    4. samples of two admission tickets
    5. for special programs, a letter of personnel safety, facility security guarantee and performer provment are also required.
The Lecture Hall and Chung-shan Locture Hall
  • the unit in charge -- the Educational Programs Division, Tel: 886-02-27588008 ext. 521
  • qualification -- government agencies; registered and accredited organizations, companies and corporations; colleges and universities to use the location for educational speeches, assemblies and cultural activities. It is also open to the public for speeches, seminars and conferences.
  • application procedure -- filled application form shall be filed. When the application is approved, the maintenance charge shall be paid fo secure the application. The application form for the Lecture Hall of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The Exhibition Gallery

  • qualification --
    1. registered organizations accredited by the government, schools and corporations.
    2. Unlessinvited by the Memorial Hall to hold exhibitions, individuals and organizations must apply approval by the exhibition review committee.
    3. only cultural and artistic organizations and government agencies can request the Memorial Hall to co-host events.
  • application procedure -- Application form must be filed first. for Exhibitions by graduate students maintenance fee must be paid according to regulation. For other types of artistic and cultural exhibitions, application will be reviewed by the Exhibition Revier Committee, and the results will be notified separately the exhibition hall application form

  • qualification -- organizations, associations, companies, corporations and all grades of schools can file for application.
  • application procedure -- Application form and a program proposal shall be filed in first. When the Memorial Hall has approved, the space can be used for free.

We promise that all staff members will provide visitors better services. We promise to welcome every visitor with kind reception; We promise to provide quick service in the most convenient way. Actions are as follows:
  • Set up a single window for the public to check schedules of varions halls and answer questions.
  • Set up website.
  • Except applications for exhibitions, which will be reviewed every six months, all rental applications will be reviewed uponfiling. If all necessary papers are furnished, the review could be completed in two days.
  • Strengthen on-job training of etiquette and tour guide to improve service and build up professionism.
  • Improre services at the information desk, and set up telephones at the east and west information desk of the Memorial Hall to answer questions, and react to different situations rapidly.
  • Prepare questionnaires at the information desk of each exhibition hall for visitors to make suggestions after visiting the exhibitions. The Memorial Hall will use these suggestions as a reference to make improvement.
  • Promote better courtesy, and set up opinion mailboxes at the east and west information desk for visitors to commenton service of receptionists to improve the service quality.
  • Recruit volunteers to take part in all kinds of services to expand service for the society, and encourage people to participate in social affairs. following services are provided:

  • Sponsor community events regularly every year to remain on friendly terms with the neighbors, and invite community leaders and administrative chiefs, and residents to the events and exchange opinions, to fulfill the goal of improving community service and expanding the coverage of social service.
  • Hold family gardening session ; invite professionals and scholars with practical experiences to explain knowledge and techniques on family gardening as a public education program.
  • Sponsor big and significant exhibitions, and organize exhibitions on collections borrowed from the world's famous galleries and museums to widen the public's artistic view. Your suggestions are welcome
