Chungshan Cultural Park of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall under the Ministry of Culture has always been the best site for public recreation. To provide quality service, the park has two public toilets. It is not easy to keep the cleanliness of public toilets. The cleaning of the public toilet located on Guangfu South Road is carried out by the students of Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled. In order to thank their hard work over the past year, the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall specially held the activity of “Express Gratitude, Send Warth and Love” on the eve of Christmas.
The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall encourages local businesses to practice social responsibilities. By signing a long-term cooperation agreement with Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled, Laurent International Co., Ltd., who assists the hall with the management of the park, sets up a career platform for the students and at present employs fourteen students to provide public toilet cleaning service in the park to empower people with disabilities to build up confidence and hope and integrate them into the society.
Director-general Wang Lan-sheng of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall brought gifts to Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled together with the colleagues in the morning today (Dec. 23) to express sincere gratitude to the students. Director-general Wang stated that the students learned diligently and worked hard to keep the environment of Lake Tswei clean and orderly. They are the best partners of the hall. He expressed gratitude to the director, teachers, and students of Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled and hoped to spread love, care, and joy together through the Christmas activity every year.
Director Ye Jyun-lang expressed gratitude to the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Laurent International Co., Ltd. for the support, acceptance, and affirmation for the students, which allowed them to grow and work in a loving environment, learn in the workplace, and have more opportunities for independence.
On the eve of Christmas, the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall specially participated in the farm fun and gingerbread house decorative activity and gave each of the fourteen students a heartwarming Christmas gift to express commendation and gratitude. The colleagues picked the self-grown vegetables together with the students during the activity filled with laughter and joy. The students also gave homemade cookies and gifts in return. Laurent International Co., Ltd. also shared its specialty ice cream to enjoy together. Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal including handmade hamburgers, bread chicken, and pizzas. The students spent a happy and warm Christmas holiday through this joyful and lively activities together with the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memoria Hall.
