“Christmas Forest” Cultural and Creative Market Creates a Festive Atmosphere at Zhongshan Cul-tural Park

To celebrate Christmas and the upcoming New Year, the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, under the Ministry of Culture, will host the “Christmas Forest” Cultural and Creative Market on the afternoons of December 20 and 21 at Zhongshan Cultural Park. This event is organized in collaboration with the “Smile Market,” known for its expertise in creating atmospheric spaces, inviting the public to enjoy a warm and art-filled Christmas market during the winter afternoons.

Director Wang Lan-sheng of the Memorial Hall stated that the market will be held along the Sanzhangli branch line and the central plaza of Zhongshan Cultural Park. Visitors can admire the reflection of the Memorial Hall’s main building in the pond and experience the historical significance of the Sanzhangli branch line, which once connected the former 44 South Arsenal via railway. The Hall has carefully de-signed the “Strolling Through Time—Handmade Expressions & Eco-Art” cultural and creative booths, incorporating railway imagery, creative product displays, pop-up tours, and hands-on workshops. This conveys the historical and cultural essence of the Memorial Hall’s development, making “Christmas For-est” not just a festive market but also a cultural and artistic walking experience.

The market will feature 200 brand booths offering diverse products, including handmade crafts, wood-working, paper illustrations, greenery and floral art, ceramics, leather goods, and specialty snacks. Pro-fessional musicians will perform live, with instruments such as accordion, classical guitar, ukulele, flute, and cello, creating an immersive festive atmosphere. To enhance family interaction, four child-friendly activities will be held at the plaza near Cui Lake, allowing visitors to stroll through the park, shop for Christmas gifts, enjoy music, and listen to stories for a delightful winter afternoon.

The “Christmas Forest” market aligns with the Hall and the Ministry of Culture’s initiatives to promote plastic reduction and sustainability. Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable bags and utensils, and electronic payment and cultural currency will be available to reinforce eco-friendly practices. The Na-tional Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall warmly invites everyone to visit Zhongshan Cultural Park and expe-rience an outdoor environment filled with art, culture, and festive spirit.
