Before the renovation project, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall of Ministry of Culture and Wang Dahong Institute for Building Research and Conservation jointly organize “Until Next Time-National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Architecture Photography Exhibition” at the corridor of the main entrance from April 13, 2024.
The spacious corridor is one of the architectural features of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Photographer Yu Hsiao-Sung has a deep observation of the architectural features of Architect Wang Da-hong and captures the different looks of the building with delicate photography skills. From the exterior façade divisions and visual dynamic design, the detailed tiles and facial cut terrazzo technique that can be observed from a close distance, to the seemingly simple atrium and corridor in the building, the photographer can create the calm and quiet atmosphere with his unique vision, perfectly present the architect’s design concept, and leave the beautiful image of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
Director-general Wang Lan-sheng said the corridor of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has been one of the favorite public spaces. Every day many people exercise, play chess, and chat here, and young people dance to show their energy. This architectural photography exhibition also provides another way to observe the hall and partake in the renovation. The duration of the exhibition will be adjusted with the construction progress to make it easy for everyone to appreciate the exhibition. The works will also be properly displayed on the future construction fences.
The exhibition curator, Chairman Shyu Ming-song, selects Yu Hsiao-Sung’s works of the daily life and architecture of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The four subjects include the exterior of the building, the corridor, the interior, and the roof. There are 13 works for each subject, and a total of 52 photography works are exhibited. We sincerely invite everyone to enjoy the architectural beauty of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
