There were 14 distinguished guests attending the first writing ceremony including Political Deputy Minister of Culture, Hsiao Tsung-huang, Taipei City Deputy Mayor, Tsai Ping-kun, Chairman of Foundation of Chinese Culture for Sustainable Development, Liu Chao-shiuan, the famous calligrapher, Prof. Tu Chung-kao, Director of Chinese Shufa Arts Organization, Chang Ping-huang, calligrapher, Mr. Shih Chun-mao, Director of Calligraphy Education Monthly, Tsai Ming-tzan, Chairman of The Republic of China Society for Calligraphy Education, Yang Shu-tang, CEO of Guo Mei Social Welfare Foundation, Yan Jin-lan, Chairman of Chinese Calligraphy Society, Chen Ming-jing, President of University of Taipei, Chiu Yin-hao, and famous artists, Hou Li-fang and Chung Hsin-Ling. JingMei Girls High School brought the honor guard team performance, and Dodo Montesorri Preschool presented the singing and dancing of New Year songs. Besides, for the 50th anniversary of the hall, fifty callographers were invited to write the spring couplets for the visitors on the scene。

1110122-38.jpg“The Chinese New Year Lantern Exhibition” of 2022 was held. Political Deputy Minister of Culture, Hsiao Tsung-huang, our Director-general, Wang Lan-sheng, and famous painter, Mr. Huang Ching-yuan, gave speeches on the scene and hosted the lighting ceremony together with our Deputy Director-general, Yang Tong-hui, Chief of Zhengsheng Village, Chen Hsiu-lan, and the calligraphy artist, Mr. Yang Shu-tang. At the same time, “365 Music” brought the music performance full of the festive atmosphere. Mr. Huang and his students of the hall’s life aesthetics class demonstrated lantern painting on the scene and gave 80 handmade eco lanterns to the visitors. There were 110 large vertical and round lanterns displayed along the corridors. Duration: 1/22-2/28, 2022。

Director-general Wang Lan-sheng launched the animation APP to interact with Dr. Sun Yat-sen. He also unveiled Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s calligraphy work, “Tian Xia Wei Gong” and announced a series of memorial activities including developing “Roam with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall App,” holding “The Exhibition of the Hall History for the 50th Anniversary,” “The Exhibition of the Hall Collection for the 50th Anniversary,” “Life Aesthetics: The Exhibition of Endless Art Journey,” “The Comedy: Renai Road 6,” and “The 50th Anniversary International Conference” and publishing the special issue of Journal of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the 50th anniversary.

Director-general Wang Lan-sheng, Deputy Director, and other chiefs lighted the lantern together. According to the rules of Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, the hall has enhanced the propaganda to the public: be sure to “wash hands frequently, wear masks, take temperature, and keep social distancing.” Let’s take the epidemic preventive measures well. On the scene there were 109 calligraphers writing spring couplets and giving them to the public. Besides, the calligraphers Xue Ping-nan, Chen Kun-yi, Guo Fang-zhong, Cai Ming-zan, and Master Jing Yao were invited to offer their calligraphy works, which were printed into 2,500 spring couplets to be given to the public and the disadvantaged residents.

The lighting ceremony of “Lantern Festival Celebration, Painted Lantern Exhibition” was held. The famous calligrapher and painter, Prof. Lin Chang-hu, legislator Jiang Nai-xin, Vice President of National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, Cai Yong-wen, famous hostess, Yu Xiu-zhi, Principal of Guang Fu Elementary School, Taipei City, Ding Yi-hang, Village chief of Zheng Sheng Li, Daan District, Chen Xiu-lan, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, lighted up the 120 painted lanterns together. The students of National Taiwan College of Performing Arts gave the performance “Gongs and Drums to Celebrate Festival.” At the same time, 110 artists including the professors, Lin Chang-hu, Xu Min-xiong, Zhao Song-yun, and Bai Zong-ren, and the winners of 2019 Chung-Shan Youth Art Award, Ms. Cai Han-ting, Mr. Hu Xian-wen, and Mr. Yang Zheng-hao were invited to paint the brand new lanterns, which were exhibited on the surrounding corridors and at the hall from January 17 to February 16. There were 200 eco lanterns given to the participants on the scene.

The Chinese orchestra of Taipei Municipal Guangfu Elementary School was arranged to give the performance on the scene. Besides, the teacher, Huang Qing-yuan, and the students of the lifestyle aesthetics classes painted and made inscriptions on the small lanterns with the slogan of “wash hands frequently, wear face masks, and take temperature.”

The attendants all reached the consensus regarding the plan proposed by our hall (including not removing the fences). The works were created during the years from 1983 to 2018, including ink paintings, calligraphy works, oil paintings, watercolor paintings, and prints and highlighting the female creative power. The artists range from the senior aged almost ninety to the new star of Chungshan Youth Art Awards in the twenties. The age difference is over sixty years, which carries the deep meaning of art heritage and time innovation.

November 7 1091107-10.jpg“Farewell Chungshan Park Flowerbed Concert” was held at 4PM for the flowerbed and fountain of Chungshan Park, which have accompanied the citizens for 48 years and will be renovated together with the park at the beginning of next year. BrassMen was invited to perform at the concert. The concert of crossover music included a series of popular Chinese and English songs: “Miss You Every Day,” “Wife,” and “You Raise Me Up,” each of which reminded the audience of their memories with Chungshan Park. It is expected that the hall will store new energy and provide the better service for citizens.

Director-general Wang Lan-sheng attended the opening ceremony and gave the welcome speech. There were 12 academic papers published at the conference. Due to the epidemic, the scholars from Japan, Malaysia, and China were unable to fly to Taiwan. They presented their papers through visual conference to attend the event for the cooperation and exchanges between museums and the international academic research on Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

NTSO, also affiliated with Ministry of Culture, was invited to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen through the relaxing concert with the meaning of cultural equal right and ethnic integration. The concert was conducted by Director Liu Suan-yung in person, including Shostakovich:Festive Overture,op.96, Bāng Tshun-hong (adapted by Yeh Shu-han), and Hakka folk song “Medley.” The encore “Happy Sailing” struck a chord with the audience at the scene.

There were more than 1,000 participants of the activity.

The activity “Light the Lanterns of Fraternity, Pass Love Forward” took place at Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled. Our director-general gave the 13 colorful lanterns designed and painted by our hall, visited the home, and interacted with the residents.

The unveiling ceremony of the huge ink painting “Taiwan Scenery” was held. Prof. Li Qi-mao serves as the head consultant. This painting is co-painted by the twelve famous professors, Luo Zheng-xian, Du Deng-yin, Li Ke-mei, Luo Fang, Li Gu-mo, Su Feng-nan, Dai Wu-guang, Yang E-xi, Huang Guang-nan, Zhang Ke-qi, Lin Zhang-hu, and Chen Shi-hou. Our hall held the conference of “Diverse Ethnic Culture and Hakka Cultural and Creative Industry” with National Pingtung University. Featuring Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Principle of People’s Livelihood, the conference had wide and deep discussions on the present livelihood and economic problems in Taiwan. The opening ceremony was co-hosted by the university president, Gu Yuan-guang, and our director-general, Liang Yung-fei.

“2019 Chung-Shan Youth Art Award Winners’ List Announce Press Conference” was held at Yat-sen Gallery. The jury members including Prof. Luo Zheng-xian, Dr. Ye Guo-xin, Prof. Su Hsien-fa, Prof. Ni Chao-lung, Prof. Huang Zong-yi, and Prof. Xiao Shi-qiong and our director-general Liang Yung-fei announced this year’s winners together: Wu Hong-jun (ink painting), Wu Qi-lin (calligraphy), and Cai Han-ting (oil painting).

“2019 The 16th International Art Fair of Persons with Disabilities in Taiwan” took place at Wen-hua Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included: Deputy Minister of Culture, Xiao Zong-huang, Deputy Director-general of Social and Family Affairs Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Li Lin-feng, Chairman of China Professional Skills Association for the Handicapped, Chen Tu-jin, and our director-general Liang Yung-fei. Two sessions of “2019 Taiwan’s Girls’ Day Film Appreciation and Symposium” were held, respectively inviting the associate researcher of Research and Acquisition Division of our hall, Zhong Wen-bo, and the library director of Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology, Xie Yi-da, to be the lecturers.

For “2019 Music in Exhibition Space Series Activities,” Philharmonia Moments Musicaux was invited to give the string quartet performance at Chungshan National Gallery for the exhibition, “Pristine Poetics: Ko Si Chi’s 90th Year of Photographic Art.”

President of The Control Yuan, Zhang Bo-ya, visited “Pristine Poetics: Ko Si Chi’s 90th Year of Photographic Art” at Chungshan National Gallery, accompanied by Kosichi’s wife, Ms. Jessie Fan, and our director-general Liang Yung-fei.

To revitalize the use of the historic buildings, implement the education on historic sites and make it take root, our hall specially recruited 23 students of the higher grades in elementary school and of junior high school to participate in the little guide training. After the course ended on October 26, our director-general Liang Yung-fei gave every student the Certificate of Completion in person.

The third outdoor concert of this year was changed to be held in front of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue at the main hall because of the sharp drop in temperature. The string club of Taipei First Girls High School and Brass Workshop gave the performance.

Director-general of our hall, Liang Yung-fei, visited Prof. Lin Chang-hu, the artist of the major exhibition in the spring of 2020, “Dragon Lying in Wait,” at Chungshan National Gallery to have a chat about the artist’s art and creative ideas.
