2020 Chungshan Youth Art Award of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Open for Submission

     “2020 Chungshan Youth Art Award” organized by National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will continue to call for submissions until September 18 this year.

     Director-general of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Liang Yung-fei, said the hall invites and expects the ink, calligraphy, and oil painting young artists of ROC aged from 20 to 45 will actively participate in “Chungshan Youth Art Award.” Providing the high prize money, Chungshan Youth Art Award invites the young people engaging in art creation to take the challenge. The first prize of each category, the “Chungshan Award” will be given to the three winners, who will be awarded NT$300,000 and 1 trophy. The winners of the second and the  third place of each category will be awarded NT$100,000 and NT$50,000. The honorable mention awards have been added since last year with five winners for each category. Each will be awarded NT$10,000.

     Director-general Liang Yung-fei also explained that Chungshan Youth Art Award is the art award with the highest value added in the country. I. The selected and winning works will not only be exhibited at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall but also join the traveling exhibitions held in the different counties and cities. Take last year for example. The traveling exhibitions were held at Tainan Art Museum, Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center, and Kinmen County Cultural Center. They will also be held next year. II. The hall will provide the winners of Chungshan Award with the chance to hold a personal exhibition for free to encourage the young artists to continue creating new works. III. National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will assist in building the art economic platform and assist the first prize (Chungshan Award) winners in participating in art expositions and exhibitions and working with galleries. Take last year for example. The three first prize (Chungshan Award) winners have participated in “2020 Art Taichung.” Therefore, the hall encourages the young artists with courage and talent to join this year’s “2020 Chungshan Youth Art Award.”
