The briefing to call for creative submissions of “Dialogue across Time and Space” was held to explain about the theme and rules. Citizens were encouraged to express their imagination and feelings for National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall through various creative forms and write the magical journey of history together. The guided tour to the building and historic sites was given on the scene。

For the culture lecture, Chair Hero Huang of Taiwan Dramatist Association was invited to talk about “The Argument of a Space-And the Interpretation of Humanism。

In conjunction with The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project, the collection of the hall will be moved, including 365 pieces of framed paintings to the warehouse of National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and 420 pieces to the warehouse of National Taiwan Science Education Center. All of the transport is expected to be completed in February。

“2024-25 The Association of Taiwan Artist Today Painting Exhibition” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridors 1F. The opening ceremony was on January 27. Duration: 1/24-2/25。

The festive atmosphere prevailed everywhere

The spring couplets writing activity “Soaring Dragon Brings Happiness” was held. The activity started with the dragon and lion dance performed by Keelung Changxing Master Lu’s Dragon and Lion Troupe. The dancers with Down syndrome from Lilian Dance Studio were specially invited to perform dances. Thirty calligraphy groups were invited to write spring couplets and give them to the visitors. The festive atmosphere prevailed everywhere。

Military News Agency produced the special program, “Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Taiwan” for Twilight Garden and visited the hall for an interview. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and the tour guide, Ms. Chiang Yen-mei, were interviewed。

The gender equality education training seminar was held. With the title of “A Review of the Promotion of the Act of Gender Equality in Employment from the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Incident,” Attorney Yu Mei-nu was invited to talk about the history and current development trend of gender equality in Taiwan and discuss with the female employees who fought for the working right in1987 to enhance the colleagues’ knowledge on gender equality。

“Our Daily Lives with Kids,” at Wen-hua Gallery

The gender equality exhibition, “Our Daily Lives with Kids,” was held in collaboration with Taiwan Women’s Center at Wen-hua Gallery. The symposium was held on February 18 and hosted by TVBS News Anchor Francis Lan. Duration: 1/28-2/25。

To continue to provide guided tours and expand and deepen the service content during the closure of the hall, two guided tours on “Environment and Ecology” were held at Chungshan Cultural Park. Ms. Wu Li-Ming was invited to talk about “Ecological Exploration of Urban Green Belts” and lead the colleagues and volunteers to the on-site tour of “Ecological Exploration of Chungshan Park”。

The groundbreaking ceremony of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project” was held at the entrance of the hall。

The closure ceremony was held at the main hall. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led the staff to pay a floral tribute to the statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen。

The Navy Honor Guard performed the last guard changing ceremony at the closure ceremony. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng gave the certificate of appreciation to the Honor Guard。

Due to “The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project,” the hall will be closed from February 26, 2024. The Honor Guard stationed by Ministry of National Defense will be temporarily withdrawn from today。

The architecture scholars from the US, Australia, Japan, India, Italy, Turkey, and Chili, who attended “Taiwan Convening 2024,” the international conference of modern architecture and cultural asset preservation funded by The Getty Foundation, came the hall for a themed visit of “Practical Preservation Experience and Promotion of Modernistic Architectural Asset,” accompanied by Prof. Kuo Chi-jeng of Department of Architecture of Tung Hai University. They were received by Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. Architect Hsu Buo-yuan and tour guide, Ms. Chiang Yen-mei, gave a briefing and guided tour。

The life aesthetics classes will continue during the closure of the hall and be given at Dongfang High School of Industry and Commerce from Session 61。

To expand and deepen the service content of guided tours during the closure of the hall, two lectures on the “art tours” of Chungshan Cultural Park were given by Mr. Tsai Fu-ren, including the appreciation of the artworks in the park, the knowledge on the revolutionary patriots’ calligraphy spirit and beauty from the inscriptions in the park, and the multi-media creation combined with tablet rubbings and calligraphy art, and on-site introductions。

In conjunction with “The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project,” the collection of the hall has all been safely moved to the warehouse of National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the warehouse of National Taiwan Science Education Center on March 10。

In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 99th death anniversary, Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led all staff to pay a floral tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue and took a group photo in front of the statue。

In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 99th death anniversary, the sapling-giving activity and book-giving activity “Embrace Book” were held to give away osmanthus and Chinese evergreen saplings, books on Sunology, and famous artists’ painting albums of calligraphy, ink painting, and oil painting. There were about 250 citizens participating in the activities。

Director Katayama Hiromu of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Japan visited our hall, received and accompanied by Director-general Wang Lan-sheng, researcher Chung Wen-po, and former associate researcher, Ms. Liu Be-rung。

During “The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project,” the hall will be temporarily closed. The relocation of most of the furniture and documents to the temporary office has been completed on March 31。

The hall set up the gender equality area for “The 50 Anniversary History Special Exhibition of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” to promote gender equality, winning the Executive Yuan’s 22nd Golden Carnation Award, the award for gender equality innovation. Premier Chen Chien-jen gave the award to Deputy Director-general Yang Tong-hui.

“2023 Chungshan Youth Art Awards Traveling Exhibition” was held at Hualien Art Museum. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on April 12 included: Director Wu Chin-Yi of Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau, Chairman Tseng Hsing-te of Hualien County Calligraphy Soceity, Prof. Lin Chun-chen on behalf of the jury, and our Deputy Director-general Yang Tong-hui. “Until Next Time-National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Architecture Photography Exhibition” was held at the corridors of the main entrance. Duration: 4/13-5/12.

The hall will be closed during “The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project.” The second relocation to the temporary office was completed on April 19.

April 22

The moving ceremony was held for the temporary office relocation. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led the staff to pray to the gods for the prosperity of the hall and the success of the renovation.

The large oil painting of “Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Revolutionary Martyrs” on the west side was relocated and the large bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen at the main hall was covered with the acid-free paper, anti-vibration pad, and bubble wrap. The three-layer protection was successfully completed to protect the important cultural relics.

The first route “Historical Mark of Dadaocheng” of the “Guided Tours to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s History and Cultural and Historic Buildings” was held with a focus on Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history, historic buildings, and female architects。

May 18

As a preview for the future launch of public art, “Dialogue across Time and Space” was organized to call for creative submissions. There were a total of 167 entries and 28 winning works. The two winners of the Creative Awards were: “Prosperity with Nature, Cultural Essence” and “Where Life Is”。

The awards and opening ceremony was held on the corridors of the main entrance. Exhibition Period: 5/16-6/16。

The second route “Guided Tour to the Campus of Sacred Heart High School for Girls in Bali, New Taipei City” of the “Guided Tours to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s History and Cultural and Historic Buildings” was held with a focus on Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history, historic buildings, and female architects。

National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and R.O.C. Military Academy co-organized “Inheritance, Extraction, and Innovation: Whampoa Academy Centenary Seminar.” Prof. Liu Wei-kai of National Cheng-Chi University gave a keynote speech on “Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the Establishment of Whampoa Academy”。

The series trainings for the park art and ecological tours were organized, including lectures, reading clubs, and guided tours to the park. The participants visited National Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and joined the ecological tours from May 30。

“Sun Yat-sen’s Nationalist Thought and the Preservation and Utilization of the Historic Sites in Miaoli.”

In memory of the 110th death anniversary of Lo Fu-hsing, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall organized the seminar on “Sun Yat-sen’s Nationalist Thought and the Preservation and Utilization of the Historic Sites in Miaoli.” Lo Chiu-chow, Lo Fu-hsing’s granddaughter and former Associate Professor of National Taipei University of Education, gave a keynote speech on “Miaoli Incident and the Japanese Invasion of 1895”。

In memory of the 110^th death anniversary of Lo Fu-hsing, the anti-Japanese revolutionary over the Miaoli Incident, “The Guided Tour to the Historic Sites of Taiwanese Resistance to the Japanese Invasion of 1895 and Lo Fu-hsing Miaoli Incident” was held, inviting the literary and historical workers to serve as the guides to the history of the land and the cultural heritage of Miaoli

June 5

“The Piano Donation Ceremony” was held. The hall is closed during “The Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project.” In order to exert the function of the musical instruments, the pianos with the historical significance of the hall, KAWAI and STEINWAY & SONS, were respectively given to Ministry of Education Musical Instrument Bank and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts-Weiwuying.

“Attractions of Formosa Arts-2024 Travelling Exhibition of the Collection from the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” was held at Zhongli Arts Hall. Exhibition Period: 6/14-6/30.

To explore more about Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and historic buildings, the guided tours to “Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s History and Cultural and Historic Buildings” were held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and the participants joined the third route, “Guided tour to Li Family Historical House- General Lee Yo-Bang Memorial Hall,” led by Chairman Lee Li-Chun of the hall.

To explore more about Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and historic buildings, the guided tours to “Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s History and Cultural and Historic Buildings” were held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and the participants joined the fourth route, “The Wufeng Lin Family Garden and Lin Hsien-Tang Museum.”

Minister of Culture Li Yuan supervised the “Municipal Historic Building National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Auditorium and Surrounding Facilities Upgrade Project,” accompanied by Political Deputy Minister of Culture Lee Ching-hwi and the representatives from the Department of Arts Development, the Department of General Planning, and the construction crew.

July 18

The lantern-giving activity was held, and the teachers and students of the aesthetics classes and the community residents were invited to participate in the guided tour of the hall. The 80 hand-painted lanterns were all given away. This activity not only enhanced the interaction with the public but also had the significant meaning of cultural heritage.

To explore more about Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and historic buildings, the guided tours to “Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s History and Cultural and Historic Buildings” were held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and the participants joined the fifth route, “Sijie Presbyterian Church and Mu-Kuang Rehabilitation Center for the Blind in Yilan.”

January 7		The Calligraphy Live Demonstration for Spring Festival in the Year of Rabbit was held. The fourteen distinguished guests including Political Deputy Minister of Culture, Hsiao Tsung-huang, Legislator Lin Yi-hua, former President of National Taiwan University of Arts, Prof. Huang Kuang-nan, Director of Chinese Shufa Arts Organization, Chang Ping-huang, and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng did the first writing. Fifty calligraphers completed a large creative spring couplet together at the main hall. Thirty calligraphy groups were invited to set up stalls at the corridors and give the visitors the spring couplets written on the scene.

January 7		For the culture lecture, former President of National Taiwan University of Arts, Prof. Huang Kuang-nan, was invited to talk about “The Cultural Thinking of Ink Painting and Its Art Aesthetics.”

January 14		Refine—Yang O-Hsi Art World 80 Solo Exhibition was held at Yat-sen Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on January 15 included: former Director-general of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Tseng Kun-ti, former President of National Taiwan University of Arts, Prof. Huang Kuang-nan, Chairman of Fu Chuan-fu Painting and Calligraphy Society, Lo Cheng-hsien, Honorary Chairman of Art Society of China, Tang Jian-feng, and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. January 14		“Life Embraced by Poetry—Calligraphic and Poetic Creations of Jiang Meng-long” was held at De-ming Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on January 15 included: Chairman of Danlu Foundation, Lian Sheng-Yan, Chairman of Chinese Calligraphy Society, Chen Ming-jing, Chairman of Danlu Calligraphy Society, Lee Chien-te, former Chairman of Traditional Poetry Society of ROC, Chien Hua-hsiang, calligrapher Prof. Lin Lung-da, and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. January 19		“Looking Back on History: Yim Mau-Kun at 80” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridors 1F. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on January 19 included: Chairman of Tainan Art Museum, Su Hsien-fa, the artists, Chen Ming-Nen, Chiang Yu-cheng, and Hung Dung-biau, and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. January 20		“The Kuniaki Kuroki Exhibition for Glass Art” was held at Wen-hua Gallery and Culture Corridors 2F. February 5-19		The hall co-organized “2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taipei” and the central display zone was located at the park of the hall. President Tsai Ing-wen hosted the lighting ceremony on February 5. The closing ceremony on February 19 was hosted by Minister Wang Kwo-tsai of Transportation and Communications.

February 25		“Lingering—Huang Tsai-lang Solo Exhibition” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Cultural Corridor 1F. The opening ceremony was on February 25. Duration: 2/25-3/13.

February 25		“Weaving of Mellow Dreams—Arts Exhibition by Professor Shu-Meei Chang” was held at Chung-Shan National Gallery. The opening ceremony was on March 4. Duration: 2/25-4/25.

February 25-26		Chen Ya Lan Taiwanese Opera Troupe staged “Lord Jiaqing and The Journey to Taiwan” at the Auditorium. Tsai Shih-Ping, Commissioner of Department of Cultural Affairs of Taipei City Government, attended and appreciated the performance on February 26.

March 3		“2022 Chungshan Youth Art Awards Traveling Exhibi-tion” was held at Tainan Municipal Xinying Cultural Cen-ter. 2 March 4 For the culture lecture, Prof. Chang Yu-teng, former Di-rector of National Museum of History, was invited to talk about “My Museum Experience-10 Impressive Mu-seums.”

March 12		In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 98th death anniversary.

March 12		To commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 98th death anni-versary and respond to International Mother Language Day, the series activities of “Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 98th Death Anniversary and National Language Promotion” were specially held, including “Pay Tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen,” the sapling-giving activity “Create Green Life Together,” the book-giving activity “Embrace Books,” and the memorial concert “Painting and Dancing—Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Death Anniversary and Multiple Lan-guages.”

March 15		Military News Agency visited the hall for an interview of the “Youth Day” feature program of “Juguang Garden.”

March 16		“INFINITY—Taiwan-Korea Contemporary Printart Ex-change” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridor 1F.

March 18		For the culture lecture, Ms. Wang An-chi, NTU Honorary Professor, and Mr. Tang Wen-hua, the first-class actor of Guo Guang Opera Company, were invited to talk about “Guo Guang Opera Company, Classics Revisited—Who’s the Hero?”

March 23		Chairman Luo Hung-chien, School President Tu Wen-chien, and Secretary-general Feng Yen-kuo of Yokohama Overseas Chinese School visited the hall.

April 1		“2022 Chungshan Youth Art Awards Traveling Exhibition” was held at Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center. The opening ceremony was on April 1. Duration: 4/1-4/26.

April 1		“Taiwan-Japan Art Exchange Exhibition” was held at Bo-ai Gallery, Wen-hua Gallery, and Culture Corridors 1F and 2F. The opening ceremony was on April 8. Duration: 4/1-4/16.

April 19		“Annual and Invitational Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy Association” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridors 1F. The opening ceremony was on April 23. Duration: 4/19-5/3.

April 22		“The Lecture on Law-Related Education” was co-organized by our hall and “Taiwan Law & Policy Research Foundation,” inviting Minister of Justice, Tsai Ching-hsiang, to talk about “Technological Legal Affairs.”

April 22-27		Our Deputy Director-general, Yang Tong-hui, led the staff to visit the sites related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Malaysia, including Kwong Wah Yit Poh Press, which was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Penang Philomathic Union Sun Yat-Sen Centre, and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall at Perak Cave Temple, and they were warmly received. Besides the deep understanding of the overseas Chinese’s endeavor and contribution in preserving the important history, this visit was also aimed to build the channel of future cooperation.

May 6		“The Art Journey of Su Fungnan: A Retrospective Exhibition” was held at Chungshan National Gallery. The opening ceremony was on May 6. Duration: 5/6-8/13.

May 6		For the culture lecture, Assistant Professor Tsai Tsun-hung of Department of Communications Design, Shih Chien University was invited to talk about “The Trend of Technological Application at Cultural Venues.”

May 6 May 20		In accordance with the subject of “Back to the Future-Taiwan’s Postwar Modern Architecture” of Ministry of Culture’s “2023 Read Taiwan,” the lecture on the book, Taiwan’s Postwar Classic Hand-drawn Architecture Drawing, and the lecture of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Contemporary Architecture in Taiwan” were respectively held on May 6 and May 20 and given by Assistant Prof. Shyu Ming-song of Department of Architecture, Ming Chuan University.

May 9-19		For the 51st anniversary of the hall, Ms. Wang Shu-juan of the “floral arrangement class” and “tea ceremony class” of our hall’s lifestyle aesthetics classes led the students to carefully set up the floral art and tea ceremony areas respectively featuring “Joyful Artistic Gathering” and “Dance of Flowers” in front of the east and west service counters to celebrate the hall’s anniversary together with the visitors.

May 16		“Let’s Get Together,” the celebration ceremony of the 51st anniversary of the hall was hosted by our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. The splendid performance of the “Indonesian new immigrant singer, Ying Ying, and Gema Angklung” and “Donghu Elementary School Lion Dance Troupe” and the beautiful singing of the vocalist Jian Wen-xiu and the volunteer choir showed the art integration of diverse languages and implemented the heritage of fraternity. More than hundred distinguished guests and visitors attended the ceremony to witness the glorious history of the hall over half century.

May 20		“Landscape Painting Flourishing-Famous Painters, Calligraphers and Members Joint Display” was held at Yat-sen Gallery. The opening ceremony was on May 20. Duration: 5/20-5/28.

May 23		“Rich-Chang Chio-tai Watercolor Exhibition in 2007” was held at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridors 1F. The opening ceremony was on May 27. Duration: 5/23-6/11.

May 24		The academic conference of “National Development and National Security” was co-organized by National Defense University and our hall. Our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and Deputy Commandant Fu Wen-hao of Fu Hsing Kang College attended the opening ceremony. The teachers and students from National Defense College, National Chengchi University, Chinese Culture University and Yuan Ze University attended the conference and published 9 academic papers.

June 1		Vice President Lai Ching-te, Minister without Portfolio of Executive Yuan Lee Yung-te, and Minister Yiong Con-ziin of Hakka Affairs Council visited “Rich—Watercolor Exhibition of Chang Chio-tai at the Age of 86” at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Corridors 1F.

June 3		In accordance with the subject of “Back to the Future-Taiwan’s Postwar Modern Architecture” of Ministry of Culture’s “2023 Read Taiwan,” two sessions of guided tour, “Academia Sinica- Architectural Image and Cultural Inheritance (in Taiwanese)” and “Academia Sinica- Architectural Culture and Abstract Metaphor,” were held. Ming Chuan University's Assistant Professor Shyu Ming-song served as the lecturer.

June 3		For the culture lecture, Chair Professor Hung Lan of Taipei Medical University and National Central University was invited to talk about “Boys Draw Verbs, Girls Draw Nouns, Is it Innate?”

July 14		The project meeting of “Interdisciplinary Value-adding Program and Auditorium Renovation Project” was held by our hall. Minister of Culture Shih Che and Political Deputy Minister of Culture Li Ching Hui attended and listened to the briefing.

July 14		All U People Theatre was commissioned by our hall to stage “Renai Road 6-The Beauty of Taiwanese.” Minister of Culture Shih Che and Political Deputy Minister of Culture Li Ching Hui visited and gave regards to the staff at the Auditorium before the show. Deputy Minister Li attended and watched the play.

July 17		The Mandarin summer camp of Yokohama Overseas Chinese School, which was established on the initiative of Dr. Sun Yat-sen when he lived in Yokohama, was held. The 34-person visiting group of the high school and elementary school students led by Director Chen Chih-wen of Student Affairs Section and Ms. Tsai Mei-hua of the high school division, paid a floral tribute to the statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng received them in person.

August 5		For the culture lecture, the professional photographer, Mr. Chou Wen-hai, was invited to talk about “My Photography Journey and Life Story.”

August 13 August 14 August 15 August 17 August 19		In accordance with the Development of National Languages Act of Ministry of Culture, five sessions of the workshop “Let’ Speak Taiwanese” were planned and implemented by Untouchable Peach Theatre Company and Godot Theatre Company with 70 percent of the contents taught in Taiwanese. The diverse activities combined with traditional opera and modern theater fully show the beauty and fun of Taiwanese.

August 24		The 15th concert of Taiwanese Classics, “Listening to Taiwanese Songs and Watching Taiwanese Movies” was organized by Taiwan Film Workers Association. Vice Minister of Culture, Hsu Yi-chun, attended and enjoyed the concert.

August 26		“Literary Sublimity—Lian Shenq-yann Calligraphy Exhibition” was held at Chung-Shan National Gallery. The opening ceremony was on August 27. Duration: 8/26-11/28.

September 2		For the culture lecture, Ms. Li Wan-ru, Director of Arabesque Middle Eastern Cultural Association, was invited to talk about “A Middle East Cultural Trip.”

September 20		“Landscape Flavor—Julia Wu Solo Oil Painting Exhibition” was held at Tswei Heng Gallery. The opening ceremony was on September 20. Duration: 9/20-10/1.

September 23		The academic conference “National Ocean Development and Facing the Ocean” was co-organized by our hall and R.O.C. Navy Academy at the school. Our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng and the school superintendent, Rear Admiral Liu Pao-wen, attended the opening ceremony. About 70 teachers and students from National Chengchi University, National Defense University, R.O.C. Military Academy and R.O.C Navy Academy participated. A total of 9 academic papers were published.

October 7		The landscape renovation project of Chungshan Cultural Park was all completed on September 19. The reflecting pool was open to the public from October 7.

October 7		Our hall served as the major venue of “2023 Nuit Blanche Taipei.” On the steps of the front entrance, the Brazilian artist, Néle Azevedom, presented the “Little Iceman Art Action.” Taipei First Girl Honor Guard Alumni Team showed the “girl power” and gave the drill performance in front of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue at the central hall late at night for the first time in response to this year’s action theme “Time to Rise Up!”

October 14		The award-giving ceremony of “The 58th Golden Bell Awards for Broadcasting was organized by Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, MOC. Minister Shih Che and Vice Minister Hsu Yi-chun, attended the ceremony.

October 16		“2022 Taiwan Girls’ Day Film Appreciation and Symposium” played the film about gender equality, “When Mom Is Away” and invited Associate Professor Liou Ming-shiang of General Education Center of Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology to lead the symposium and prize quiz.

October 28		The event of “SHOW TAI” was held to introduce the newly renovated park, inviting Multix Theatre, Wandering Clown Troupe, Su Jun Ying Puppetry Troupe, Tsng-kha- lâng, Sam-Seng-Hiàn-Gē, and Fei Fong Yee Taiwanese Opera to join the guided tour to Chungshan Cultural Park in Taiwanese together with the public.

November 2		The academic conference of “Taiwanese Calligraphy and Painting and Chungshan Collection Aesthetics” was co-organized with National Taiwan University of Arts. Deputy Director-general Yang Tong-hui and Dean Liu Ching-Min of Fine Art College of NTUA attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. About 200 teachers and students participated, and 8 academic papers were published.

November 4		For the culture lecture, Chair Wang Yi-hui of Department of Cultural Vocation Development of Taipei Tech was invited to talk about “The Art of Wine Vessels-The Cultural Context and Appreciation of the Development of Wine Vessels.”

November 10-12		In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 158th Birth Anniversary, Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led all staff to pay tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue. Besides, a total of 1,003 people from 15 private groups such as the teachers and students of Taipei Fuhsing Private School visited the hall and paid floral tribute on November 10 and 12.

November 12		The book-giving activity “Embrace Books was held at the west corridor, giving about 2,400 books, including books on Sunology and famous artists’ albums of calligraphy, ink painting, and oil painting. There were about 250 participants on the scene.

November 15		Our hall was granted the certification of “The Outstanding Breastfeeding Room” by the Department of Health, Taipei City Government in 2023. The certification is valid from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2026.

November 23		“The 2023 Research Forum on the Implementation of World for All and Great Love” was co-organized with Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology. About 200 experts and scholars from 15 academic units participated, and 22 papers were published.

November 25		The Motion Picture Foundation, R.O.C. organized “The 60th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony.” Minister Shih Che, Political Deputy Minister Su Wang, and Vice Minister Hsu Yi-chun attended the ceremony.

November 28		“2023 Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition” was organized. A total of 68 students from 15 countries participated.

November 29		“The 1st National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Planning and Development Consultation” was held, inviting the experts and scholars on “Sunology,” “museology,” and “art and culture” and community leaders to participate. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng hosted the consultation.

November 30		The Ministry of Health and Welfare organized “2023 National Volunteer Recognition Ceremony.” Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan and Minister of Health and Welfare Hsueh Jui-yuan attended the ceremony.

December 1		“The 5th Chungshan Youth Academic Conference” was organized at the College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University. Chairman Wu Po-hsiung of Sun Yat Sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, Dean Lai Chih-Chien of NTNU’s College of International Studies and Social Sciences, Director-general Wang Lan-sheng of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and other distinguished guests attended the conference. A total of 15 PhD and master’s students published papers, and nearly hundred scholars, experts, and graduate students participated.

December 2		“Making Art Display with Andrew Charity Association” was held at Tswei-geng Gallery. JingMei Girls High School brought the honor guard team performance, and Dodo Montesorri Preschool presented the singing and dancing of New Year songs. Besides, for the 50th anniversary of the hall, fifty callographers were invited to write the spring couplets for the visitors on the scene。

January 22		“The Chinese New Year Lantern Exhibition” of 2022 was held. Political Deputy Minister of Culture, Hsiao Tsung-huang, our Director-general, Wang Lan-sheng, and famous painter, Mr. Huang Ching-yuan, gave speeches on the scene and hosted the lighting ceremony together with our Deputy Director-general, Yang Tong-hui, Chief of Zhengsheng Village, Chen Hsiu-lan, and the calligraphy artist, Mr. Yang Shu-tang. At the same time, “365 Music” brought the music performance full of the festive atmosphere. Mr. Huang and his students of the hall’s life aesthetics class demonstrated lantern painting on the scene and gave 80 handmade eco lanterns to the visitors. March 12		To improve the park facilities and plaza pavement and provide the comprehensively friendly and wheelchair-accessible environment, the nostalgic railway “Sanzhangli Branch” of “Interdisciplinary Value-adding Program” was open to the public on March 12.

May 5		The opening ceremony of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall 50th Anniversary” was held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng launched the animation APP to interact with Dr. Sun Yat-sen. He also unveiled Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s calligraphy work, “Tian Xia Wei Gong” and announced a series of memorial activities including developing “Roam with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall App,” holding “The Exhibition of the Hall History for the 50th Anniversary,” “The Exhibition of the Hall Collection for the 50th Anniversary,” “Life Aesthetics: The Exhibition of Endless Art Journey,” “The Comedy: Renai Road 6,” and “The 50th Anniversary International Conference” and publishing the special issue of Journal of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the 50th anniversary.

October 17		“2022 Taiwan Girls’ Day Film Appreciation and Symposium” was held, invinting the district office, village offices, and nearby residents of Xinyi District, Taipei City, to join the activity together. A guide was given before the film “La Bolduc” on gender equality was played. After the film, Assistant Professor Luo Yi-ping of Department of Education of Chinese Culture University was invited to lead the discussion and prize quiz. More than 30 audience had a deeper understanding about the issue of gender equality.

November 3-4		“The 50th Anniversary International Conference and Museum Forum” was held at Chungshan Lecture Hall with the topic of “Heritage, Innovation, and Promotion: The Half Century Retrospect and Prospect of the Research of Sunology,” inviting the scholars, experts, and museum professionals from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Mainland China to participate. A total of 16 papers were published. The opening ceremony was presided over by Director-general Wang Lan-sheng. The conference was conducted on-site and remotely. More than a hundred people including the scholars and experts at home and abroad, museum staff, PhD and master students, and the general public attended the conference.

November 8		“2022 Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition” was held. There were 54 students from 16 countries attending the event. The competition topics included: “How to Break the Gender Stereotypes,” “Things I Want to Do Most After the Lockdown is Lifted,” “What Can We Do to Face Criticism?,” “Can We Tell White Lies?,” and “My View on Religious Beliefs in Taiwan.” The winner list was as follows: first place Pierce Johann Gissler Mc Donnell (US), second place Colby Clay Skaggs (US), third place Angel Javier Martinez Acevedo (US), fourth place Alexandra Leigh Berends (US). There were also 6 merit award winners.

November 12		In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 157th birth anniversary, Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led all staff to pay tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue.

November 12		In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 157th birth anniversary, former President Ma Ying-jeou, former Vice President Wu Den-Yih, and a total of 1022 people from 12 non-governmental groups including the elementary and secondary school teachers and students of Taipei Fuhsing Private School led by Chairlady Lee Yin Shiun-ying, visited the hall to pay floral tribute.

November 12		In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 157th birth anniversary, the hall especially invited “Resonance Ensemble” in collaboration with a singer to perform the Chinese, Taiwanese, and Hakka songs to the audience at the hall to show the art inclusiveness of various languages and practice Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s spirit of “The World is for All People.”

November 20-25		Director-general Wang Lan-sheng led a visit to Yokohama Overseas Chinese School and was warmly received by Chair Lo Hung-chien, Vice Chair Kuang Kuang-chia, and President Tu Wen-chien of the school. The two sides had discussions and exchanges and visited the newly-completed teaching building. This visit not only benefited the international exchanges and cooperation with foreign friends but also enhanced the friendship and communication between Taiwan and Japan.

November 22-23		“The Research Forum on the Implementation of Tzu Chi Buddhist Thought in the International Community,” co-organized by our hall and Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology was held at the school. Our Deputy Director-general, Yang Tong-hui, President of Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology, Lo Wen-jui, and CEO of Tzu Chi Education Foundation, Wang Pen-jung, gave speeches at the opening ceremony. There were 71 experts and scholars from 17 schools participating and a total of 37 papers published.

November 30		Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Bureau held the major lantern ground-breaking ceremony of 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival at the destined area of the hall. Tourism Bureau Director-general Chang Shi-chung, Secretary-general Chen Chih-ming of Taipei City Government, and Chief Wang Bing-lun of the hall’s Extension Service Division attended the ceremony.

March 12		To promote the heritage and development of eastern calligraphy and painting art, the hall specially invited ten important contemporary ink artists to co-paint the huge ink work featuring the landscape of Taiwan, “Taiwan Charm.” The participating artists, Liang Shiou-chung, Jiang Ming-xian, Huang Guang-nan, Lin Chang-de, Luo Zhen-xian, Tsai You, Chang Shen-hsi, Chiu Ting-fu, Lin Chang-hu, and Huang Tsai-sung, Director-general of National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng unveiled the great work together.

March 12		“Create Green Life Together” for 2021 Arbor Day was held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng gave the participating citizens1,500 saplings of osmanthus, azalea, and camellia to express the hall’s emphasis on greenness, energy conservation and carbon reduction. It is expected to create the happy and comfortable green life with the citizens.

March 12		“Never Give Up, In Memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Spirit: Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 96th Death Anniversary” was held. The volunteer chorus sang “The Gift of Love,” and Bird and Water Dance Ensemble performed “Dance the Light of Life.” The event was warm and touching.

March 19		The book giving activity was held. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng gave more than thousand research books on Sunology and painting volumes published by the hall to the visitors for free.

September 4 & September 26		Two book lectures in memory of Architect Wang Da-hong were held: “Why Should We Know Architect Wang Da-hong: Reading Architect Wang Da-hong 1942-1995” was held on September 4, inviting Assistant Prof. Shyu Ming-song of Ming Chuan University to do the guided reading for the audience. “Wang Da Hong’s Literary World: Reading Phantasmagoria” was held on September 26, inviting Assistant Prof. Shyu Ming-song of Ming Chuan University and famous translator Mr. Ni An-yu to be the attendees of the conversation.

September 6		Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je, accompanied by Director-general, Wang Lan-sheng, and guided by the exhibition artist, Chuang Chih-hui, visited “Chuang Chih-hui Solo Exhibition—Memory is a Kind of Trap.” National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall as a city-designated historic site is expected to undergo the major renovation in 2023. Besides visiting the exhibition, Mayor Ko also inquired about the censorship schedule of the “contingency plan” of cultural heritage undertaken by Department of Cultural Affairs.

November 14		Teco Technology Foundation organized “2021 Taiwan Aboriginal Music Festival.” President of Control Yuan, Chen Chu, attended the performance.

November 16		The hall organized “2021 Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition,” which attracted 33 students from 11 countries to participate. The competition included the five topics: “Taiwanese ‘Excuse Me’ Culture,” “The Chinese Catchwords Not in Textbooks,” “Reflection on a Piece of News,” “Something I’ve Learned from COVID-19,” and “How I Face Loneliness.” The winner list was announced: first place柏安達 (US), second place慈仁塔青 (India), third place前本兼辰Maemoto Kentatsu (Japan), fourth place華靈澤(UK); 6 merit award winners: 傑閔(US), 尹芯愛(Thailand), 森本真紀Morimoto Maki (Japan), 裴氏焰姮 (Vietnam), 樊博聞 (Peru) and Ishida Tabibito石田旅人 (Japan).

November 17		The academic conference of “2021 The Practice of The World For All People and Great Love” was held in Hualien. President Lo Wen-jui of Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology and our Director-general Wang Lan-sheng attended the conference.

November 18		The public toilet of the hall was granted the benchmarking award in the public toilet evaluation of 2021 by Taipei City Government. The director of Department of Environmental Protection, Taipei City Government, Liu Ming-lung, gave the award.

December 4~December 5		“2021 Taiwan SDGs Action Days” was organized by Legislative Yuan UN Sustainable Development Goals Advisory Council and National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Paper Windmill Theater was commissioned to plan the performances and activities. January 8		President of The Control Yuan, Zhang Bo-ya, visited “Conceptural Artwork Created by Anne Cho―Landscape Blue-and-White Porcelain Solo Exhibition” at De-ming Gallery accompanied by the researcher of our hall, Zou Qiu-qiang.

January 14		Our hall co-hosted the 2020 spring festival couplets writing event “Ink Play and Lantern Display in the Year of Rat” together with Buddhist Association of the Republic of China and The Republic of Chinese Society for Calligraphy Education, inviting seventy elites including Counselor of Ministry of Culture, Fang Zhi-xu, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, to complete the first-writing together. On the scene there were 109 calligraphers writing spring couplets and giving them to the public. Besides, the calligraphers Xue Ping-nan, Chen Kun-yi, Guo Fang-zhong, Cai Ming-zan, and Master Jing Yao were invited to offer their calligraphy works, which were printed into 2,500 spring couplets to be given to the public and the disadvantaged residents.

January 15		President of The Control Yuan, Zhang Bo-ya, visited “From Lines to Network: Chen Cheng-po’s Collection of Painting and Calligraphy” at Chungshan National Gallery accompanied by our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei.

January 15		Our Deputy Director-general, Yang Tong-hui, led the colleagues to join the banquet for the elderly living alone held by Federation for the Welfare of the Elderly to give the lucky draw gifts and 300 copies of printed spring couplets.

January 16		The researcher of our hall, Zou Qiu-qiang, led the colleagues and the teachers and students of the lifestyle aesthetics classes to visit Senior Services and Daycare Center, Xinyi District, Taipei City, give 100 copies of printed spring couplets to the elders on the scene and accompany twenty demented elders to write spring couplets and chat with each other.

January 17		The lighting ceremony of “Lantern Festival Celebration, Painted Lantern Exhibition” was held. The famous calligrapher and painter, Prof. Lin Chang-hu, legislator Jiang Nai-xin, Vice President of National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, Cai Yong-wen, famous hostess, Yu Xiu-zhi, Principal of Guang Fu Elementary School, Taipei City, Ding Yi-hang, Village chief of Zheng Sheng Li, Daan District, Chen Xiu-lan, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, lighted up the 120 painted lanterns together. The students of National Taiwan College of Performing Arts gave the performance “Gongs and Drums to Celebrate Festival.” At the same time, 110 artists including the professors, Lin Chang-hu, Xu Min-xiong, Zhao Song-yun, and Bai Zong-ren, and the winners of 2019 Chung-Shan Youth Art Award, Ms. Cai Han-ting, Mr. Hu Xian-wen, and Mr. Yang Zheng-hao were invited to paint the brand new lanterns, which were exhibited on the surrounding corridors and at the hall from January 17 to February 16. There were 200 eco lanterns given to the participants on the scene.

January 18		“Membership Charity Joint Display by China Pacific Asia Watercolor Art Association” was held at Bo-ai Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included: Director of Rotary District 3523, Qiu Hong-ji, Chairman of Creative Oil Painting Society of R.O.C., Su Hsien-fa, Chairman of Chinese Asia-Pacific Watercolor Association, Hong Dong-biao, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei. January 19		Director-general of Department of Teacher and Art Education, Ministry of Education, Zheng Yuan-quan, and Deputy Director-general of Youth Development Administration, Wang Yu-qun, and Director-general of National Taiwan Arts Education Center, Wu Jin-jin, visited our hall to enjoy the performance of “Concert Feast Night.”

January 21		“Little Tour Guides to Historic Sites” was held. Our hall was designated as the historic site of the city, which was announced by Taipei City Government on May 3, 2019. By sticking to the spirit that historic heritage and cultural education should take roots, we specially trained twenty little tour guides from the elementary and junior high schools in Taipei City to join the guide service together.

January 31		To greet Lantern Festival and strengthen the propaganda to the public about the preventive measures against COVID-19, our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, gave out 300 hand-made epidemic-prevention eco lanterns at the main entrance corridor. The Chinese orchestra of Taipei Municipal Guangfu Elementary School was arranged to give the performance on the scene. Besides, the teacher, Huang Qing-yuan, and the students of the lifestyle aesthetics classes painted and made inscriptions on the small lanterns with the slogan of “wash hands frequently, wear face masks, and take temperature.”

February 1		For the culture lecture, winner of Broadcast Golden Bells Awards and famous writer, Ms. Yu Xiu-zhi, was invited to talk about “Fly Bravely against the Wind.”

February 2		“2020 Taipei International Calligraphy Exhibition and Demonstration for Spring Festival” was held at Wen-hua Gallery.

February 4		The public hearing of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Landscape Renovation Plan” took place and was hosted by Director-general Liang Yung-fei. The attendants included: Section Chief of Ministry of Culture, Zhan Jia-hui, Senior Executive Officer, Chen Shi-hao, and department representatives of Taipei City Government, Councilor of Taipei City Council, Wang Hong-wei, Architect Wang Shou-zheng, and village chiefs, Ma Nian-Ci, Wu Jian-dem and Chen Xiu-lan, local residents, and representatives of morning exercisers. The attendants all reached the consensus regarding the plan proposed by our hall (including not removing the fences). The meeting conclusion was sent to Taipei City Government for the cultural heritage, urban design, and tree protection reviews.

February 7		To promote gender equality, “Taipei Female West Painting Society 42nd Joint Display” was held at De-ming Gallery. The works of 45 female artists aged from thirty to ninety were exhibited. The exhibition contents were abundant and diverse. Duration: 2/7-2/23.

February 11		“Tsai Chun-chang Ink Painting Solo Exhibition” was held at Wen-hua Gallery.

February 13		“2020 Hidden Dragon, Do Not Act: Lin Chang-Hu Ink Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition” was held at Chung-shan National Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included: Vice President of Legislative Yuan, Tsai Chi-chang, Legislator Huang Guo-shu, former Minister of Culture, Hong Meng-qi, Chairman of Tainan Art Museum, Huang Guang-nan, Dean of Taiwan Academy of Fine Arts, Liao Xiu-ping, Director of National Museum of History, and our Director-general Liang Yung-fei. March 7		“2019 Chungshan Youth Art Award Work Exhibition” was held at Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center. Duration: 2/29-3/18.

March 7~April 28		“Taiwan Female Artists’ Artworks Exhibition from National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall’s Collections” was held, exhibiting the Taiwanese female artists’ works collected in our hall. The works were created during the years from 1983 to 2018, including ink paintings, calligraphy works, oil paintings, watercolor paintings, and prints and highlighting the female creative power. The artists range from the senior aged almost ninety to the new star of Chungshan Youth Art Awards in the twenties. The age difference is over sixty years, which carries the deep meaning of art heritage and time innovation.

March 10		To strengthen the epidemic preventive measures, the opening ceremony of “Taiwan Female Artists’ Artworks Exhibition from National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall’s Collections” was cancelled and replaced with the small symposium of artists. The artists, Liang Xiu-zhonh, Xie Ji-yun, Lin Yun-qi, Meng Zhao-guang, Huang Yan-rong, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei attended.

March 12		“Chungshan Charisma Revisited: Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 95th Death Anniversary Series Activities” was held. Our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, led all colleagues to pay tribute to the statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. There were 12 non-governmental organizations attending.

March 12		The activity of Arbor Day “Seeding with Hopes, Extending Happiness” was held. Through the tree-planting exercise “Love Trees all over the World,” the public can take some exercise. By cooperating with Forestry Bureau, our hall gave out 1,500 little trees and invited “Queen of Tree-Planting” from Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Foundation, Ms. Cheng Li-yi, to share her experience. Our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, attended.

March 12		For the series activities of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 95th Death Anniversary, “The Great Man Music Feast,” the string orchestra and percussion ensemble of Department of Music, National Taiwan University of Arts, gave the performance together. Our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, attended.

March 26		“The 83rd Taiyang Art Special Display” was held at Bo-ai Gallery. Duration: 3/26-4/22.

January 30~March 31		To prevent COVID-19, six epidemic prevention emergency response meetings were convened before the end of March. “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Epidemic Prevention Plan in Response to COVID-19” was made.

April 1~April 22		“National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Epidemic Prevention Plan in Response to COVID-19” was made on February 10 and amended twice on April 1 and April 22.

April 6		To lower the infection risk, the thermal imaging body temperature detection equipment was installed at the three entrances and exits of the hall.

April 11		“2019 Chungshan Youth Art Award Work Exhibition” was held at Cultural Affairs Bureau of Kinmen County. Duration: 4/11-4/27.

April 12~May 7		To implement the social distancing measures of Central Epidemic Command Center, the hall strengthened the advocacy of the new epidemic preventive measures to the exercise groups on the corridor and the exhibition groups in the hall.

April 13~May 6		To respond to the epidemic and avoid gathering, the colleagues’ simulation exercises of working in the different locations were conducted.

April 13~May 16		From April 13 to May 16, the chiefs on duty led the security guards and colleagues to express health concern for the public taking exercise around the hall and promote the epidemic preventive measures including the messages of keeping the proper social distance and wearing face masks during the two periods from 7AM to 8AM and from 8AM to 9 Am on one week day and one weekend day every week.

April 17~April 24		To maintain the lake water quality and avoid the utrophication as a result of the high temperature in summer from affecting the ecology, the silt cleaning operation is regularly arranged for Lake Tswei, Chungshan Park, so that the visitors to the hall will enjoy the more comfortable landscape and activity space.

April 23		“Landscape Improvement Project Counseling Meeting” was convened and hosted by Director-general Liang, inviting the scholars and experts of landscape, cultural heritage, architectural design, and tree protection to offer the opinions and counseling to the divisions of the hall for the reference of the landscape improvement design.

May 6		To avoid gathering during the period of epidemic prevention, the video conference system has been set up, and the 7th hall meeting was convened through video conferencing.

May 8		“2020 Staff’s and Volunteers’ Artworks Exhibition of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” was held at Tswei-heng Gallery. Director-general Liang Yung-fei shared the creative skills with the participating staff and volunteers. Duration: 5/8-6/7.

May 16		The simple but warm celebration of the 48th anniversary of the hall, “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall 48, Happy SPA,” was held. Director-general, Liang Yung-fei, gave a speech and prayed for blessings in fighting against the epidemic together with the public.

May 19		Director-general Liang Yung-fei and Prof. Hsueh Ping-nan were interviewed by the hostess of Police Broadcasting Service, Yin Jie-feng, talking about “Flourishing in the Afterglow-Exhibition of Calligraphy and Seal Engraving by Hsueh Ping-Nan” held at Chungshan National Gallery.

May 20		“Melody of Formosa Arts—2020 Traveling Exhibition of the Collection from National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” was held at Culture and Tourism Bureau, Miaoli County Government. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on May 25 included: Deputy Magistrate of Miaoli County Government, Deng Gui-ju, Director of Culture and Tourism Bureau, Miaoli County Government, Lin Yan-fu, the curator of the exhibition, Prof. Xiong Yi-jing of Department of Calligraphy and Painting Arts, Chang Jung Christian University, and our Director-general, Liang Yung-fei. The guided tour to National Taiwan University was on June 7. The guided tour to Academia Sinica and National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was on June 14. July 11~July 18		A Guided Tour to Wang Da-hong’s Historic Buildings” was held, and Professor of Ming Chuan University, Xu Ming-song, and the volunteer of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Ms. Li Tai-zhen, led the guided tour respectively. The guided tour to National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Academia Sinica was on July11. The guided tour to National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was on July 18.

July 16~July 19		National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the first time assisted the first prize (Chungshan Award) winner of “2019 Chungshan Youth Art Award” to participate in “2020 ART TAICHUNG” to build the platform of art economy. Deputy Director-general of our hall, Yang Tong-hui, attended the opening ceremony on July 16. Minister of Culture, Lee Yung-te, visited “2020 ART TAICHUNG” on July 18 to encourage the three Chungshan Award winners participating in the exhibition. July 31		Legislator Su Zhi-fen visited the hall to appreciate the performance of “2020 Classic Arts Festival.”

August 3		“2020 National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Art Collection Exhibition” was held at Wen-hua Gallery and Culture Corridor(2F). Wen-hua Gallery Duration: 7/31-8/11. Culture Corridor (2F) Duration: 7/31-9/10.

August 5		“Taiwan International Watercolor Association Exhibition” was held at Bo-ai Gallery. The opening ceremony was on August 9. Duration: 8/5-8/17.

August 8		The opening ceremony of the series activities of “Music in Exhibition Space” in 2020 was held. The professional music team of three young female harp, erhu, and pipa musicians was invited to give the performance.

August 8		Since the opening of the hall forty-eight years ago, it is the first time to hold the culture lecture at Auditorium with 2500 seats. Chairman of Everlight Cultural Foundation, Jian Wun-xiu, was invited to give the recital “Deep Affection Still.” Director-general Liang Yung-fei gave the welcome speech. The distinguished guests attending the lecture included Minister of Education, Pan Wen-chung, former President of The Control Yuan, Zhang Bo-ya, former Minister of the Interior, Chen Wei-ren, former Minister of Economic Affairs, He Mei-yue, former Minister of Hakka Affairs Council, Chung Wan-mei, Secretary-general The Red Cross Society of the Republic of China, Zhang Bao-hui, and Chairman of Everlight, Ye Yin-fu.

August 12		“Brilliant Talent: A Commemorative Exhibition of Prof. Wang Chung's Calligraphy Art” was held at Chungshan National Gallery. The opening ceremony was held on August 15. Duration: 8/12-9/22.

August 14		“SHOAH—How Was It Humanly Possible?” was held at Wen-hua Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on August 14 included: Deputy Director-general of MOFA, Miguel Li-jey Tsao and Representative of Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Omer Caspi. August 20		“The 44th National Oil Painting Exhibition” was held at Bo-ai Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony on August 22 included Deputy Minister of Ministry of Culture, Xiao Zong-huang. Duration: 8/20-9/2.

August 20		The public hearing about the effects during the construction period of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Landscape Renovation” was convened, inviting the exercise groups that frequently use the public space of the hall, 15 village chiefs and the local residents of the neighboring Daan District and Xinyin District, and the representatives from Ministry of Culture, Department of Sports, New Construction Office, Public Works Department, Department of Cultural Affairs, Hakka Affairs Commission, Xinyin District Office of Taipei City Government to participate .

August 22		“Music in Exhibition Space” was held, inviting the string orchestra of Taipei Private Dongshan High School to play music for “Brilliant Talent: A Commemorative Exhibition of Prof. Wang Chung's Calligraphy Art” at Chungshan National Gallery. Principal of Dongshan High School and our Director-general Liang Yung-fei appreciated the performance on the scene.

August 26		Former vice president, Chen Chien-jen, visited the hall to appreciate the performance of “Vox Nativa Choir Taiwan.”

August 26		Deputy Minister of the Interior Chen Tsung-yen encouraged the members of the performing group, Vox Nativa Children’s Choir, of “Vox Nativa Choir Taiwan” at the back stage.

September 3		“Melody of Formosa Arts—2020 Traveling Exhibition of the Collection from National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” was held at Pingtung Art Museum. Duration: 9/3-9/27.
