This year (2022) is the 50th anniversary of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Ministry of Culture. Before the renovation of the Auditorium, the heartwarming comedy, “Renai Road 6,” will be staged on May 14 and 15. All U People Theatre is specially invited to produce the comedy. The theatre director, Hsieh Nien-Chu, leads the playwright, Wu Shih-wei, and the heavyweight actors including Kuo Tzu-Chien, Action Tang, Lia Kang, Teresa Chang (successor of Teresa Teng), Lu Shao-chi, Lung Lung (Lin Chien-yu), and Eunice Liao to present the show. The two imitation masters, Kuo Tzu-Chien and Action Tang, will exert their imitation skills together on the stage. Besides, the successor of Teresa Teng, Teresa Chang, will also be invited to lead the audience to review the good old days with her beautiful voices.
The press conference was held to market the performance. Director-general of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Wang Lan-sheng, said in his speech: This year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the hall. We’ve planned a series of activities such as exhibitions and theatre performance for the citizens to join for fun. In retrospect, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has been an important cultural hall in Taiwan. The renovation of the Auditorium will start next year and last for about 3 to 4 years. Before the renovation, the culture and classic historical events of the hall in the general public’s eyes are made into a play in the heartwarming, touching, and joyful way to subvert the heavy impression of a historical play and share fun with the audience. The great contents are splendid and worth expectation.
The director of All U People Theatre, Hsieh Nien-Chu, said it took efforts to figure out how to present the stories related to National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Taiwan in an unconventional way when receiving the mission. After the brainstorming of all members of the theatre, they hope to adopt the comedy and bring the audience the happy time through the performance of the big cast. To stick to the fact, All U People Theatre names the play “Renai Road 6” after understanding that National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located at the greenfield site of “Park 6” in Taipei City.
Besides the theatrical performance, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will also launch the image video on the online media platforms including the official website, Facebook Fan Page, and Youtube and publish the special issue for the 50th anniversary. From early May, there will be a series of activities: “Roam with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall App,” “Life Aesthetics: The Exhibition of Endless Art Journey,” “The Exhibition of the Hall History for the 50th Anniversary,” and “The Exhibition of the Hall Collection for the 50th Anniversary.” “The 50th Anniversary Celebration of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” will be grandly held at the main hall at 11AM on May 14. Besides, “The 50th Anniversary National Conference” will be held at Chungshan Lecture Hall on November 3 and 4 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the hall.
