“SHOW TAI”: Enjoy Theatre, Music, and Treasure Hunt, Let’s Have Fun Together

In the cool autumn of October, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall of Ministry of Culture brings together the performing arts groups and modern bands to give performances in Taiwanese with the theme of “SHOW TAI.” Today (Oct. 28) the public are invited to watch shows, listen to music, and play games at Chungshan Cultural Park of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall together.

“SHOW TAI” started from 2PM today. The six interactive performances given by Multix Theatre Company, Wandering Clown Troupe, and Su Junying Puppet Theatre Company were moved to the main hall due to the rain. Among them, Su Junying Puppet Theatre Company, which won the individual high distinction award and the group gold medal award in the art creativity competition of “The Art Elite Training Program,” specially planned and produced The Adventure of Mustache. The unexpected encounter between Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s puppet and statue in the show staged in front of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s statue made it more interesting. Multix Theatre Company combined the creative style of physical comedy to interact with the audience. Wandering Clown Troupe brought the interesting adventure stories. Each troupe presented two different shows, and the six performances were a feast for the eyes of the audience.

The stamp-collecting game at nine designated locations was also moved to the corridors and hall. Parents and children participated enthusiastically. In front of the reflecting pool on the plaza, Sam-Seng-Hiàn-Gē, which was nominated for Best Vocal Group in the 33rd Golden Melody Awards in 2022 and for Best Electronic Album in the 13th Golden Indie Music Awards, started its performance at 5:30PM. It was the cross-border fusion of electronic music and the elements of Taiwanese temple music. Next, Tsng-kha- lâng presented Iā-Kuan Sûn-Tiûnn Chitchats with Sun Yat-sen. For the grand finales, Fei Fong Yee Taiwanese Opera was invited to put on God of Wealth Descends to the World. The diverse and interdisciplinary performance of electronic music, rock music, and Taiwanese opera full of excitement continued until 8:20PM, showing the different features of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall after renovation.

Director-general Wang Lan-sheng of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall said Chungshan Cultural Park has always been a good place to go for the public. From senior citizens’ morning exercise, young men’s street dance, to parent-child interaction, the open park shows the rich vitality of citizens all year round. The event theme “SHOW TAI” mainly highlights the hall’s continuous commitment to culture and art as a good platform. After the landscape renovation project was officially completed, the 10-hectare park further expands the energy of the hall’s service platform. Two weeks ago, the art fair “City Moti” served as a warm-up for today’s event. Today the diverse performances of drama, music, juggling and mime bring the new atmosphere of re-opening of the hall to everyone. In the future, more related activities will be held from time to time. Today Untouchable Peach Theatre Company is specially invited to arrange and plan the creative activities and bring visitors different feelings. He also hopes that people will visit National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall more often.

The event director, Chung Hung-yuan of Untouchable Peach Theatre Company, said the entire program arrangement is aimed to arouse people’s memories of interacting with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and review the role the hall in ordinary people’s life so that all groups from the elderly, the middle-aged, to the young can connect with the hall and it will become a public-friendly environment in people’s life. Besides, for the event of “SHOW TAI,” the hall combines the features of history, culture, and adventure and specially arranges an exciting treasure hunt. Starting from 2PM, visitors started to explore the scenic attractions of the park. Adults and children who love adventures and puzzle solving embarked on their exciting journey of treasure hunt and had fun together.
