To welcome Arbor Day, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall of Ministry of Culture will organize the art fair “City Midori” from 12:00 to 18:00 on March 9 and 10. Since the park renovation was completed last year (2023), the hall has organized two art fairs well received by the public. By working again with “Sogoodmarket,” this is the largest outdoor fair in northern Taiwan for those who enjoy fairs.
National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall’s art fair “City Midori” is located on the lawn on the southeast side of Chungshan Cultural Park. Around thousand people do various leisure activities at Chungshan Cultural Park with lush trees every day. It is not only the back garden for people in East District of Taipei City but also the emerald of this area. This time, through the art fair held in the park, the public will also learn about plants and the environment. This will be an activity full of comfort, leisure, and green art.
The art fair “City Midori” planned by “Sogoodmarket” includes 200 brand booths. Besides the starting concept of green market, it gathers the stylish handicrafts from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan and uses green plants in the booth and main visual design. The booths include the brands with green characteristics such as “carpentry,” “paper and illustrations,” “green plants and floral art,” “pottery,” and “leather.” The first session of the book-giving activity, “Embrace Books,” will be held on the scene, giving away the hall’s art publications, audio tapes of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s memorial songs, documentaries on the establishment of the hall, and phone cards. There will also be great accordion, flute, cello, and violin performances. Visitors can enjoy the art fair and music and choose gifts for family, friends, and themselves in the spring afternoon.
At the same time, in memory of the 99th death anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Arbor Day, the sapling-giving activity will be held on the west corridor of the hall at 9AM on March 12, giving away hundreds of osmanthus and Chinese evergreen saplings to citizens and expressing the hall’s emphasis on greening, energy conservation and carbon reduction. The second session of the book-giving activity, “Embrace Books,” will be held at 9:30, giving away more than 2,000 painting albums and research books on Sunology.
With an appeal for plastic reduction and environmental protection, the art fair “City Midori” encourages everyone to bring their own bags and tableware and put environmental protection into practice. Electronic payments services are provided, and cultural points can be used. Welcome everyone to go outdoors on the weekend and enjoy the outdoor art fair full of green forest atmosphere.
