Chairman Su Hsien-fa of Tainan Art Museum welcomed the splendid collected works of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which had never been exhibited outside the museum, to be exhibited at Tainan Art Museum. “Pine and Cypress in Spring,” co-painted by the twelve famous calligraphers and painters such as Huang Jun-bi and Zhang Da-qian, with the distinct features in the collection of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, is one of the key exhibits of the exhibition. The exhibition is also a warm-up for the series activities of the hall’s 50th anniversary in 2022. The visitors will be able to witness the great work co-painted by the senior artists who fully exert their specialties.

National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Tainan Art Museum have deep connection. Director-general Wang Lan-sheng expressed his gratitude to Tainan Art Museum for providing the quality exhibition space. He said National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, to shoulder the responsibility of promoting arts and culture, provides the artists with the exhibition space and platform. Many seniors and masters world-famous for the outstanding achievement in their professional fields used to hold exhibitions here and display their masterpieces of hard work. The later younger creators inspired by the hall’s exhibitions and competitions also learn to make progress and further broaden the path to art. The exhibition specially invites Mr. Gu Yao-hua to organize the collection and connect the artworks by means of story-telling. It is expected that through the presentation of collected works of diverse topics that have rarely been exhibited outside the hall the people in southern Taiwan will look back on part of the history of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the art circle of Taiwan in the past nearly 50 years at the exhibition space of Tainan Art Museum Building 1 and connect with the context of the local artists in Tainan. Besides, welcome to participate in the series activities of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall’s 50th anniversary next year.

The curator, Prof. Gu Yao-hua, explained that Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is not only the most popular exhibition space in northern Taiwan but also one of the most important units to promote art education in Taiwan. After the accumulation in the past nearly 50 years, the classic works of this traveling exhibition include the senior, middle-aged, and young artists at the same time. It is a precious experience for him to assist with the exhibition co-organized by National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Tainan Art Museum.
