National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Invites the Public to Celebrate the Beautiful Years on the 50th Anniversary Together

National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Ministry of Culture, celebrates the 50th anniversary. The celebration ceremony and the gift-giving activity were held today (May 14). The distinguished guests including Legislator Lin Yi-hua, Deputy Mayor Tsai Ping-kun of Taipei City, former President Huang Kuang-nan of Nation-al Taiwan University of Arts, Prof. Liu A-ron of Center for General Education, Na-tional Central University, Chairman Su Hsien-fa of Tainan Art Museum, and Direc-tor Chen Sheng-fu of Ming Hwa Yuan celebrated the beautiful years of the hall to-gether with the public.

     The launch ceremony of “National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall 50th Anni-versary” is the retrospection of the solid foundation National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Me-morial Hall has laid in the art and cultural circle in the past fifty years. Besides, the on-going “Interdisciplinary Value-adding Public Works Program” becomes the milestone for the hall to break new ground and reach new level. The image film for the 50th anniversary was played on the ceremony. The Chinese orchestra of Zhongshan Girls High School played three songs closely connected to the pulses of the society under the pandemic. The climax of the ceremony came when the eye-catching style cake of the hall building was presented.

     Director-general Wang Lan-sheng said the growth of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has been closely related to the social public, artists, and performing groups of Taiwan. He expressed his gratitude to everyone for sustaining the beauti-ful days of the hall. The series activities for the 50th anniversary have been prepared for nearly one year. Besides “The Exhibition of the Hall History” and “The Exhibi-tion of the Hall Collection,” the hall will also continue to promote Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s thinking by holding the international conference of Sunology at the end of the year, launching “Roam with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall App,” through which the hall building will tell its own stories, and presenting the anniversary com-edy, “Renai Road 6,” which has been postponed to October because of the pandem-ic of COVID-19. After the landscape renovation of Chungshan Park is completed at the end of this year, the renovation of the hall building will start next year. The business will then focus on going out and working with schools and communities. We will also hold activities at the completed areas step by step and continue to pro-vide the public with the related services and opportunities close to art and culture. In his speech of congratulations, Deputy Mayor Tsai Ping-kun of Taipei City said the hall connects to Taipei Dome, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei Railway Workshop, and National Railway Museum. After the underground passage is com-pleted this year, it will become the important corridors of culture, sports, and art in Taipei City. Next year, the main lantern of Taiwan Lantern Festival that hasn’t been displayed in Taipei City for twenty-three years will also be exhibited at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

     The “Book-Giving Activity” and “The 50th Anniversary Limited Souvenir Giving for FB Posts with Photos” were held in the morning. The participants said they specially attended the 50th anniversary because they had spent many important moments in life with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. They will properly collect the limited souvenirs not for sale including the sparkling water and masks to commemorate their connection with the hall for fifty years.

     “Life Aesthetics: The Exhibition of Endless Art Journey,” “The Exhibition of the Hall History for the 50th Anniversary,” “The Exhibition of the Hall Collection for the 50th Anniversary,” and “Roam with National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall App” have been presented. The other series activities including the stage show, “Re-nai Road 6,” and “The 50th Anniversary International Conference” will be held in October.
