To implement cultural equal rights and make arts education take roots, Department of Education, Keelung City Government held “2020 Keelung City Kindergarten Senior Children’s Theater Experience” at the Auditorium of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the first time this year. For the activity, a large number of teachers from the kindergartens of Keelung City and senior high school student volunteers engaged in the location scouting and simulation training program beforehand.
Today (October 7), Keelung City Mayor Lin Yu-chang led the 2,400 kindergarten students from the public and private kindergartens of the city to appreciate the drama performance at the Auditorium, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. It is expected that the children will develop their thinking and expression abilities through the experience and that the young children from Keelung City will feel the atmosphere of the theater at the national level and learn about the theater etiquette at the same time.
“Song Song Song Children’s & Puppet Theatre” is invited to perform for the activity. Besides theater appreciation, the children art course is also combined. It is expected to provide the children with the theater experience beyond imagination. It is the first time for the participating children to enter National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and watch the children’s play. They all looked very excited.
Director-general of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Liang Yung-fei, said there are two breakthroughs for the activity. First, it is the only theater experience in which the mayor led the children into the hall in person. Second, it is the first time that 2,400 little children gather at the Auditorium of the hall at the same time. This activity not only implements cultural equal rights but also promotes the popularity of arts education. He sincerely welcomes these innocent and lively children to visit the hall and start their first experience of theater.
