The present Deputy Director of National Center for Traditional Arts, Wang Lan-sheng, took over the post. Today (November 2) the handover ceremony was held at Lecture Hall of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Deputy Minister of Culture, Peng Jun-heng, served as the supervisor.
Director-general Liang has served as a civil servant for more than thirty years. With the five major working beliefs, “professionalism,” “friendliness,” “energy,” “innovation,” and “heritage,” he led the hall and promoted the affairs extensively. By making innovations from heritage, he passed on Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s spirit of fraternity and the culture and art in Taiwan and wrote down the eternal chapters.
The new Director-general, Wang Lan-sheng, has served in the cultural system for long. He served as the Deputy Director of National Center for Traditional Arts for nearly seven years, Director of Economic Affairs Department, Yilan County Government, Deputy Director-general of Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, and Chief Secretary of National Palace Museum, familiar with the cultural affairs. Graduating from Graduate Institute of Building and Planning, National Taiwan University, he specializes in the fields of architecture, planning, and design. He used to supervise the “Construction Plan of Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum” and “Construction Project of Taiwan Dramatic Arts Center.” With the experience on both engineering and art and cultural industries, he will help National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall with the “Interdisciplinary Value-adding Program” to build the new life aesthetic park of “Interdisciplinary Integration, Art and Cultural Tourism” and implement Minister of Culture Li Yong-de’s policies on cultural industrialization.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Peng Jun-heng, said under the leadership of Director-general Liang Yung-fei, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has made great achievements. The new Director-general Wang Lan-sheng has served in the cultural system for long and been familiar with the cultural affairs. It is hoped that the two Director-generals will turn pressure into energy, develop potential, keep perseverance, and lead the colleagues to form more cohesion so that the colleagues will show vitality and encourage each other.
Director-general Wang Lan-sheng said, “Tongren” and “Dayou” in Yi Jing (Book of Changes) are like the two sides of the same coin, meaning that people share the same feeling and understanding. As humans, we all have the same core value and cultural concept. National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has been designated as a municipal historic building. In the future, the hall will open its gate wide and befriend people as part of Taipei City Government and as a good partner of Department of Cultural Affairs. By means of the belief and method, we will start from the interior, work together to extend the spirit to the community, and cooperate with the artists and performing art groups to build a better exhibition and cultural exchange platform. From the end of the year, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will start a series of renovation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the park. It is hoped that the teamwork of the colleagues will create a better environment and the hall will become even better with the passage of time. In the future, by sticking to the passion for heritage and service and a sense of mission for the art and cultural work, Director-general Wang will lead all colleagues of the hall to work together to promote the hall affairs.
