In his speech at Landscape Renovation Groundbreaking Ceremony today(February 24), Director-general of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Wang Lan-sheng, said Chungshan Park has long been the very important open park in the citizen life of Greater Taipei Area since the establishment of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Starting from 4AM every morning, the morning exercising groups, teenage street dancers, parents and children, and the activities held by the different sectors can be seen here. It is full of vitality from morning to night in four seasons. However, after long years of use, the trails, plaza, and friendly facilities need upgrading. The planning and design of the renovation has included the citizens’ opinions and been reviewed by the cultural asset and landscape committee members to meet the standard of modern parks. During the construction, the hall will specially demand the construction quality and safety, and the renovation will be undertaken area by area. Most areas of the park will still be open to the public in order not to cause inconvenience to the public. Furthermore, the hall has also been considering holding more various activities and performances at Chungshan Park after the renovation is completed so that the interdisciplinary value-adding program of the hall will provide the more comprehensive service and become the citizens’ favorite leisure space. The hall invites all citizens to join in the series memorial activities in March to make National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall become a happy field for the citizens to pursue beautiful memories.
